Abbie (Madonna) is desperate to have a child. Time is running out and she fears she will never find the right guy to settle down with and have a family. The perfect solution seems to have been right in front of her all the time. Her best friend Robert, (Rupert Everett) is willing to help her out. Robert is gay and quite good looking. After the baby is born, things between the two remain much as they were. The child is loved and well taken care of. One day Abbie meets Ben (Benjamin Bratt). Immediately, the two fall in love and plan to get married. There doesn’t seem to be a problem until Ben and Abbie want to move away. Robert sues Abbie for custody and all the secrets come out.
