Allegheny Uprising presents the account of the 1760’s in the United States, where disillusionment with the British government is beginning to embroil in the Pittsburgh area. In a tragic turn of events, several local colonials are killed by Native Americans armed with rifles provided by nearby traders. An adventurer, James Smith (John Wayne), pleads this case to English officials along with some of his cohorts, in an attempt to make weapon-trading to natives an illegal act. Some businessmen, however, vehemently disagree with this notion and would prefer higher profit, whatever the collateral cost may be. Tensions rise between the two differing factions until any court action is rendered moot, setting the tone for an inevitable confrontation centered around a wagon train set to deliver more weapons under British guard.
